PGL will return to Bucharest in 2027

PGL has announced that the first of six tournaments in 2027 will take place in Bucharest from January 17 to 24.

Originally, the tournament was planned to be held in Krakow, but TAURON Arena canceled the reservation, and PGL moved the season’s opening event to familiar Bucharest, where the company has already hosted tournaments in 2025 and scheduled two more for 2026.

PGL Bucharest 2027 almost completely overlaps in dates with BLAST Bounty Season 1 in Malta.

Sixteen teams will play in the tournament: 14 will receive invites based on the global VRS according to the rankings as of October 5, and two more will qualify through the European closed qualifier.

The prize pool will be $1,000,000 plus $400,000 in VRS bonuses. The champion will receive $280,000, and the remaining places will be distributed in descending order, down to $2,500 for positions 13–16.
